Hotel De Sers, Eighth Arrondissement

If French actress Fanny Ardant was a hotel, it might look like Hotel de Sers. Its exterior is strikingly 19th century classical and its interiors are a sophisticated take on Parisienne. The four-storey building was originally commissioned by the Marquis de Sers and became a hotel in 1935. Its recent incarnation sees it jostling, oh-so-stylishly, antique portraits of aristocracy with mid-century and modern furniture against a background that is largely cerise and crimson red. As befits a hotel with 45 rooms, four junior suites, two large suites and an apartment, it has been given a restaurant, patio terrace and bar lounge whose centrepiece bar has a mirrored backdrop that changes colours. There is also a gym and steam and sauna room while in-room massage and bath menu are available.
